We (the fun family - Mum, Dad, Bro and yours truly, hehehe ;-D) hit the North-South Highway pretty early because we wanted to make lots of house calls this trip down.

Our first detour was at Batu Pahat, Johor (Woo-hoo!) to have breakfast with Uncle Tan, our family friend :-) Uncle Tan was like a mentor and father figure to my dad when the latter first ventured into the plant business. My dad has since switched lines but in respect and gratitude, drops by every blue moon to bring a little cheer :-) Uncle Tan manages a beautiful plant nursery for export.

At Johor Bahru, Grandma was there to greet us :-) Her happy face made us glow with joy :-D We were so glad we came down :-) She had missed us very much, and especially missed my father. My mum, the ever thoughtful and filial one, brought lots of gifts, household supplies and groceries for my Grandma, as usual ;-P The entire afternoon breezed by as we touched base :-)

We left soon after (promising to lunch with her the next day) as we had to beat the jam at the Causeway, to make our next stop - Uncle John 's at Serangoon.
Uncle John and his family were lots of fun! :-) He took us for dinner at New York, New York, a busy restaurant in Ang Mo Kio Hub.
New York, New York is pretty special :-) The food and ambience are so good that people queue for hours to get in. To appease the long line of waiting customers, this restaurant makes and gives out candy floss, at the entrance, for free! :-D

Rising early the next morning, we eagerly visited my uncle's church! :-) Then, we were off to Junction8, for shopping! :-P Lo and behold! As we entered, and to our awesome surprise, we saw... wait for it... THE LARGEST BISCUIT SCULPTURES IN SINGAPORE! Hahaha! :-D
The Pyramids of Giza (one of them, hehe), the London Bridge, Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Singapore's Esplanade, and our Twin Towers (standing proudly at 4 feet, hehe) were all showcased.
Uncle David and Aunty Jen joined our party later that afternoon for tea :-) It was always a pleasure to meet them, and we were especially happy to see our lovable Baby Bryan.

Family road trips are the greatest! :-D So much time is spent together, that you can't help but bond with each other. Can't wait for the next one! ;-D
