The Long Post Home

As I had anticipated, I was OVERWHELMED, DROWNING, PULLED UNDER by my work, from the very moment I began. OH! The tragedy of it all!!

Pei's Song, 19th Sept -
Our cell meeting had just ended and Lieo Jiun was proudly showing his new IMac to a few of us, outside our place of meeting. Jeremy sat strumming his guitar casually, as usual ;-P

Suddenly, an exciting new idea to use the highly advanced IMac to record a song came up. Yee Pei became the immediate source of inspiration. It was great that her name rhymed with "Hey" :-P

By the time I arrived on the scene (I was at a dental appointment :-P) my friends had successfully put a verse together, Jeremy being composer, lyricist, guitarist and singer all rolled into one, making up the song as he went along :-) He's incredibly talented, by the way.

After singing for a while, it occurred to him to fit in a second voice. The song's melody and words were completely oblivious to me - Jeremy did not know where it was going either, so we just made things up, for fun's sake :-) And ta-da! Pei's Song (Hey, Pei) came into existence, pretty good too, for a first (and last) try :-P

The lyrics truly touched Yee Pei's heart :-) I am glad God chose to use me in my little way to do His will :-)

Baby Bryan, Bye-Bye, 20th Sept :-(

Wen Ching's Farewell Night Out, 20th Sept - Wen Ching, Wei Suan, Qian Ee, Cheryl, Kuan Han and I met up to hang out Qian Ee's place. We bid Wen Ching, who was leaving to further his studies adieu and bon voyage :-P

Smile - By Charlie Chaplin

I have a lovely song to share :-) It's called Smile, written by Charlie Chaplin. A few years ago, Michael Buble covered it in his album, Caught In The Act. I have it here for you (http://lohsy86.googlepages.com/08Smile.mp3). Love it!

Smile
though your heart is aching
Smile
even though it's breaking
When there are clouds
in the sky,
you'll get by
If you smile
through your fears and sorrow
Smile
and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun
come shining through
for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
although a tear
may be ever so near
That's the time
you must keep on trying
Smile
what's the use of crying?
You'll see that life
is still worth-while
if you just smile
Smile

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
although a tear
may be ever so near
That's the time
you must keep on trying
Smile
what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life
is still worth-while
if you just smile

Keep on smiling
oh yeah
Smile
Never, never, never stop smile
Smile!
:-)
